Unlike the previous year, fires in production facilities and premises were more prevalent, with a significant increase in technical interventions. Some of the most dangerous fires arise from the smallest „perpetrators.“ Like the one that took place this year on Černý Most.

The fire, which started on Sunday morning in the children’s room in the loft superstructure, destroyed 12 flats and others were damaged by extinguishing water flowing from the fire-damaged roof superstructure. The fire was caused by a play with matches of a little three-year-old girl left unattended with her siblings. The children were saved at the last minute, with the little girl suffering severe burns. The children’s mother was later convicted of general endangerment.

Firefighters believe in the help of their patron Saint Florian, but sometimes the situation can be complicated by an uncooperative natural force. In this case, it was a strong wind that made it impossible to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers and later made rescue work very difficult.
