#2016

This year could have had a completely different case as a key fire. As we were able to capture the fire on the roof of the National Museum at the very beginning, we can present you with another event as the most interesting fire of the year.

On August 26th, firefighters from Radotín and Smíchov stations went out to fight the burning scenery in the film studios in Barrandov. The number of units on the scene was eventually intervened by firefighters at a special stage of fire alarm. These were hundreds of square meters of scenery of a medieval town from the 13th and 14th century, ready to shoot a historical series dedicated to the last years of the Templar Order. The extraordinary nature of this case is evidenced by the use of police helicopters with bambivak, but also by the use of police tank-truck syringes designed to fight protesters rather than fire. Paramedics had to treat three firefighters. One on the spot and two were taken to hospital with suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

Again, this case can be evaluated as a demonstration of excellent cooperation between the services of the Integrated Rescue System. The medical rescue service performed its role in helping all intervening in extreme temperature conditions excellently. The Police of the Czech Republic provided in addition to the usual helicopter also a tank-truck syringe, which was their premier use in this role, and by providing the necessary food for the members of all intervening services in this long-lasting intervention.
